UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEMS (DRONES)
The Litchfield School District is committed to providing all students and staff with technology-based learning opportunities. Access of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) technology in the District is permitted under limited circumstances. For the purpose of this policy, a UAS is any aircraft without a human pilot aboard the device and which is operated remotely. With the prior written authorization of the Superintendent or designee, a UAS may be used explicitly for educational purposes associated with a class, established club or program, or building maintenance as may be required.
Usage of a UAS must comply with all Federal and State regulations and safe operating protocols. Under no circumstances may a UAS be used to:
- 1.Take pictures of property or persons without their prior consent;
- 2.Harass others, including persistent interference with another's work, insulting or attacking others;
- 3.Circumvent District policies.
