A special meeting of the Litchfield Board of Education was held on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at 6:30 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office Conference Room.
Present: Mrs. Knox, Chairperson; Mrs. Reardon; Messrs, Costa, Fairchild, Falcetti, Noone, Shuhi and Simone. Mr. Doyle was excused. Also present, Dr. Tindall-Gibson.
Personnel – Resignation
A letter of resignation was submitted by Dr. Tindall-Gibson, Superintendent.
MOTION made by Mr. Costa and seconded by Mr. Fairchild: to accept the letter of resignation (effective February 17, 2004) and to extend the board’s best wishes.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
Discussion regarding selection of interim superintendent and take any action deemed necessary
MOTION made by W. Shuhi and seconded by H. Fairchild: to go into Executive Session at 6:40 p.m. to discuss personnel.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
Open session resumed at 7:37 p.m. No action taken.
Discussion of Superintendent search process and take any action deemed necessary
A discussion of possible procedures for selection of a superintendent took place. No final decision was made at this time. The board agreed to contact three possible candidates to be interviewed for the position of interim superintendent. A special meeting will be scheduled for the first week in January.
MOTION made by F. Simone and seconded by J. Costa: to adjourn the meeting at 7:43 p.m.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
