A special meeting of the Litchfield Board of Education was held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at 6:00 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office Conference Room.
Present were: Mrs. Knox, Chairperson; Mrs. Reardon; Messrs. Costa, Fairchild, Falcetti, Noone, Shuhi, Doyle and Simone.
Consider Interim Superintendent Candidates and Take Any Action Necessary
MOTION made by J. Costa and seconded by H. Fairchild: to move to Executive Session to discuss personnel at 6:01 p.m.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
Open session resumed at 7:55 p.m.
MOTION made by J. Costa and seconded by J. Noone: to authorize the Chairman of Board of Education and/or the Chairman of the Personnel Committee to negotiate a contract commencing as soon as possible with James Chittum to act as interim superintendent.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
MOTION made by J. Costa and seconded by F. Simone: to authorize the chairman of the Board of Education to hire Thomas Jokubaitis as a consultant to aid the Board of Education in the search process for a permanent superintendent.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
MOTION made by F. Simone and seconded by W. Shuhi: to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
