A special meeting of the Litchfield Board of Education was held on April 6, 2005, at 5:00 p.m. in the Intermediate School Library.
Present were: Mrs. Knox, Chairperson; Messrs. Costa, Simone, Falcetti, Shuhi, Fairchild, Doyle and Noone. Mrs. Reardon was absent.
Employment of New Superintendent of Schools
MOTION made by J. Costa and seconded by W. Shuhi: to go into Executive Session to discuss personnel at 5:04 p.m.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
Open Session resumed at 5:10 p.m.
MOTION made by F. Simone and seconded by H. Fairchild: that the Board appoint Dr. Dominick Vita as Superintendent of Schools, effective August 15, 2005 and continuing through June 30, 2008, and MOVED FURTHER, that the Board Chair be authorized to execute a contract with Dr. Dominick Vita on behalf of the Board with respect to Dominick Vita’s employment as Superintendent of Schools.
MOTION carried. All votes were in the affirmative. There were no abstentions.
MOTION made by F. Simone and seconded by W. Shuhi: to adjourn the meeting at 5:12 p.m.
