LITCHFIELD BOARD OF EDUCATION

 

            A special meeting of the Litchfield Board of Education was held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office Conference Room.

 

            Present:  Messrs. Costa, Fairchild, Shuhi, Falcetti, Noon, Simone, Tourtellotte, and Mrs. Reardon.  Mr. Gorman was absent.  Also present, Superintendent Vita, First Selectman Leo Paul and the press.

 

New Business

 

                        MOTION made by W. Shuhi and seconded by D. Falcetti:  to approve a lease between the Town of Litchfield, the Litchfield Board of Education and the Bantam River Corporate Park, LLC for Unit B, school bus office, for ten years, and to accept the gift of Unit C-3 school bus parking area off North Shore Road in Litchfield.

 

Board discussed 10-year lease; first 5 years $200/month, second 5 years $300/month from Board of Education’s budget.  Some renovations to the building located on the property from Board of Education budget and Town’s Public Works Department will do the work; plowing being discussed with Laidlaw; plowing of access roads needs to be determined.

 

Voting on motion:

 

                                    MOTION carried.  All votes were in the affirmative.  Mr. Simone abstained.

 

                        MOTION made by F. Simone and seconded by C. Reardon: to adjourn the meeting at 6:23 p.m.

 

                                    MOTION carried.  All votes were in the affirmative.  There were no abstentions.
